Passenger Car Floor Wet! ?

I noticed that the passenger side of the car is soaking wet. I do not have a sun roof, there was no rain. It is just on one side too! I did not go on a carwash.

This morning, before I saw the problem, I got my oil change, windshield wiper changed, and my air filter changed. We went back to the mechanic that changed the oil and he said, it's nothing, just let it dry out.

Did he mess up my car? What's wrong with it? The wet spot is on the right passenger side. I have a saturn ion.

Help!
Passenger Car Floor Wet! ?
I have to agree with %26quot;Listless%26quot;. It sounds like the tube is blocked that drains the condensation away from the a/c system underneath your dash. But i would check further by touching the wetness and sniffin

it - antifreeze has a very %26quot;sweet%26quot; smell which would indicate a problem with the heater core.

If it is odorfree - you are then looking at %26quot;water%26quot; and the a/c blockage.

I'm not that familiar with the Saturn Ion but - aren't they relatively %26quot;new%26quot; in terms of production model?????

If the wet area smells like washer fluid then problem solved - it may be just a %26quot;careless accident%26quot; by your mechanic - who %26quot;carelessly%26quot; spilled washer fluid on your cars floor. And cleaned it up - which is why%26quot;he knows%26quot; - not to worry about it - because he knows what it was and that it will dry and be fine - but doesn't want to admit to what really happened.

Hope this helps %26amp; Happy motoring!!!!

Did he not get his bathroom breaks?
You probably need a new heater core.
okay first you should go to car wash and fix it nest you should get naked
what was goin on there?
Most likely a leaking heater core. Touch it with your fingers and if it feels slippery that would be anti freeze. Keep an eye on your coolant levels
It sounds like your heater core is leaking.
your drain tray for the air conditioning coil has an outlet which is supposed to drain outside, it is plugged...
my car leaks like that in the rain..could be still wet from a rain previous but u just noticed it now?
you need your heater core either replaced or fixed

i have the same problem in my car and it costs about $300-$500 most of that is for labor because most heater cores are under the dash and the part is only like $50 and i dont recommend doing it yourself because it takes mechanical skill to fix it
Well..It was probably your air filter being fixed.I wouldnt sew or anything but definetly clean it up because even though its just water..it will stink up your car trust..OMG ive smelled it and it smells...So bad.Id say to leave the door open after drying it like crazy with a towel or taking it to the car wash and sucking it up!Good luck.
i definately think he spilled something in there.....or u did. other than that, given the variables i cant think of any other way water could have gotten there. a car only stores water in the radiator and almost impossible for that water to get inside the car.
Engine coolant has a color to it,so if it has a color then I'd consider the heater core to need attention. If the water is clear and no odor, the mech. or some one may have wasted water inside the car. check your coolant level and pay close attention the next day or so. If this is your mechanic,he's not likely to let a small problem escalate.

%26quot;BRILLIANT%26quot;!!!!

your heater core needs to be fix. other wise it's going to be a cold winter. you won't be able to use your heater.
You do NOT need a heater core. Have you looked under your car after running the AC for awhile? There's always a little water there, and the drain that puts that on the ground is plugged. Any local shop can shoot a little compressed air up there are clear the plug for you. Takes 2 minutes.
If it doesn't dry out in a few days, the mechanic may have just spilled or cleaned something. If your heater core was leaking, you would definitely smell coolant. Check the coolant level when the engine is stone cold just to be sure.
